The Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering (ACSE) is seeking to appoint a highly motivated Lecturer in Medical Robotics.
We are looking for an innovative and visionary researcher who is able to develop, lead and sustain research of international standard in one or more areas of medical robotics, including robotic surgical interventions, brachytherapy and biopsy, radiology, rehabilitation and assistive robotic technologies.
In particular, we are particularly interested in advancing engineering and computing for intraoperative and teleoperated robotics, imaging and sensing, data extraction and fusion, human-robot interfaces and haptics, surgical instrumentation and virtual reality.
You will be passionate about working to address the current and future research challenges in the field and to develop, apply and evaluate new solutions that benefit society and industry. Experience of managing research projects, the ability to develop cross-disciplinary collaborations and a willingness to contribute to the collegiate life in the Department, the University Research Institutes and Research Centres are essential.
In addition to establishing and maintaining a world-class research profile through high-quality research publications, research grant income and impact generation, you will also be expected to maintain the department’s reputation for teaching excellence by contributing to our undergraduate and graduate courses by designing, delivering and assessing high quality teaching programs.
You will hold a PhD in a relevant subject area, or have equivalent experience and be able to demonstrate potential to conduct world-leading research in robotic engineering and computing for healthcare.
