This position is required to work closely with UNT faculty colleagues, and researchers at sponsoring agencies on characterization of components built by friction stir processing and additive manufacturing. Key aspects will be linking the microstructure to mechanical properties.
Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering or related field.
The position would require strong background in materials thermodynamic modeling. Experience in one or more of the techniques such as scanning electron microscopy (including EBSD) and transmission electron microscopy is required.
