The University of South Alabama College of Engineering invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor of instruction with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2024. The position requires teaching undergraduate lower division engineering courses related to Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering. The minimum requirements for the position is a Doctorate degree in engineering. Candidates for a doctoral degree who are completing the dissertation process will be considered, but preference will be given to applicants who have completed the degree. Non-tenure track positions are renewable on an annual basis, subject to teaching and service performance, as well as student enrollment needs.
Located in Mobile and near the Alabama Gulf coast with its beautiful white-sand beaches, the University of South Alabama is a public, doctoral-level institution enrolling more than 13,000 students. The College of Engineering is housed in Shelby Hall, a 155,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art Engineering and Computing Sciences building. The college has over 900 students and offers BS degrees in Chemical, Computer, Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering along with MS degrees in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Systems Engineering. In addition, the College of Engineering offers a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Systems Engineering and Chemical Engineering. Mobile is the center of a growing, two-county, metropolitan area of approximately 600,000 residents with a diverse economy and outstanding opportunities for interaction with high technology industrial partners.
