Stocker Visiting Professor in Electronic Avionic Systems

The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in the Russ College of Engineering and Technology at Ohio University invites applications for a Stocker Visiting Professor position at all ranks and from all areas of Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering Candidates must have earned a doctorate in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field by the start date of the appointment. We are looking for outstanding candidates with demonstrated excellence in research, as well as a keen interest in teaching and a commitment to student success. Successful candidates will be expected to collaborate with our faculty, mentor students, and strengthen our research programs.
This is a limited-term position for two years with a possible renewal for one year. Appointments at all levels (i.e., Visiting Assistant, Associate, and Professor) will be considered. We expect the candidate will teach one course per semester. Salaries for the appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience along with benefits.
Job Description: The Stocker Visiting Professor will be expected to provide additional depth for research and teaching, broaden the horizons of our students by supporting existing efforts to develop inclusive pedagogy while utilizing modern tools to provide hands-on learning experiences in electronic avionic systems Candidates from all relevant research areas in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering are highly encouraged to apply, and special consideration will be given to candidates with a record of high-quality research and scholarship in the primary focus areas of electronic communications, navigation, and surveillance (CNS) systems: GNSS/GPS/PNT; inertial navigation; integrated CNS systems; autonomous vehicles; UAS/UAV/drone applications. Expertise in applications areas in space, air, land, and sea will also be considered.
School: The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) is in the Russ College of Engineering and Technology at Ohio University offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. At present there are roughly 450 undergraduate students, 100 master’s degree students and 30 PhD students in the School of EECS. EECS employs 25 full-time tenured, tenure-track, research, and instructional faculty. New sponsored research awards in the School of EECS have averaged roughly $4M per year over the last five years, and numerous research collaboration opportunities exist within the School’s Avionics Engineering Center utilizing the Ohio University Gordon K. Bush Airport facilities.
