Department of Industrial and Entrepreneurial Engineering & Engineering Management

The Industrial and Entrepreneurial Engineering & Engineering Management Department (IEE&EM) at Western Michigan University (WMU) is accepting applications for two tenure-track assistant or associate professor positions starting August 2024.

Engineering Management position: Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in Engineering Management or Industrial Engineering or a related discipline or “All But Dissertation Status” (ABD) with degree completion before the start date from an ABET-accredited institution.  All candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching, and possess expertise in the field of Engineering Management.  Candidates are expected to participate in department service activities. Relevant industrial experience is desired. Applicants must be able to provide instruction in traditional areas of Engineering Management, in such topics as decision analysis, project management, strategic planning, operations management, leadership, and risk analysis. Applicants must be able to provide instruction in areas of Industrial and Systems Engineering, in such topics as systems engineering, facilities planning, supply chain, simulation, manufacturing systems, reliability, operations research, quality engineering, design of experiments, ergonomics and entrepreneurial engineering. WMU’s Industrial and Entrepreneurial Engineering & Engineering Management Department (IEE&EM) is an integral participant in research in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS). Desirable candidates will work closely with the CEAS faculty and be able to obtain external funding from regional and national providers, research foundations, and federal funding agencies. In addition, candidates’ research areas are expected to complement the department’s expertise in data analytics, Industry 4.0, healthcare, and advanced engineering management practices.
