Associate or Full Professor in Environmental Engineering and Water Resources
The Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) Department in the College of Engineering at Iowa State University (ISU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor level in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering.
The successful candidate will take a leadership role in a campus-wide, multi-million-dollar initiative centered on securing an adequate and equitable supply of water throughout the urban-rural continuum. This position depends on an ability to conceive, coordinate, and lead large research projects and teams, as well as expertise in an area such as water management, water quality, emerging contaminants, water reuse, smart water systems, and environmental justice.
The successful candidate will sustain a world-class externally funded research program that complements the current research and education efforts in the CCEE Department through both independent and collaborative work. Additionally, the candidate will maintain a strong record of scholarship, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and engage in institutional service and service to the environmental and water resources engineering profession. Candidates should have strong communication skills, share our commitment to enhancing excellence through equity, diversity, and inclusion, and support the mission of the department, college, and university.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a closely related field.
Candidates must meet the university standards for appointment to the rank including significant experience/accomplishments in the candidate’s area of expertise.
Record of effective teaching that contributes to the department’s degree programs.
Record of research that complements existing strengths in the department and University.
Evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Evidence of an ability to conceive, coordinate, and lead large transdisciplinary research projects and teams
The CCEE Department offers B.S. degree programs in environmental engineering, civil engineering (including an environmental engineering option), and construction engineering, plus M.S., M.Eng., and Ph.D. graduate degree programs in civil engineering, and it maintains externally funded research of approximately $17 million annually.
