The Aerospace Engineering Program within the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of South Carolina (UofSC) in Columbia is seeking qualified applicants for Tenure Track faculty positions at all levels.

UofSC is designated as a "high research and high service activity" university by the Carnegie Foundation. The department has six endowed chairs, 33 full-time faculty, undergraduate enrollment of over 900 students, graduate enrollment of over 200 students, and over $10.8 million in research expenditures last year. 
 
South Carolina is in the Center of a rapidly growing Aerospace Industry in the South East of the US. As of 2018, UofSC offers the first Aerospace BS program in the State in addition to its Minor, and Graduate degree programs in aerospace engineering.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in aerospace engineering or a closely-related field by the start date of employment, a demonstrated record of research accomplishments, and an outstanding capacity for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. Candidates having expertise in Multiphysics Modeling and/or Experiments are desirable. Successful candidates will be expected to develop internationally-recognized, externally-funded research programs in cutting edge areas of aerospace engineering, but not limited to, Aerodynamics for both high and low speed applications, Aircraft Design, Propulsion (including electric) for both traditional and novel technologies.
