The Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering at Montana State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Industrial & Management Systems Engineering at the Assistant or Associate Professor level (as appropriate) with primary responsibilities in teaching, research and service/outreach. The successful candidate will become an integral part of the program. Duties will include teaching courses focused in industrial and management systems engineering, working on curriculum development, developing a nationally recognized, externally funded research program, and participating in professional/service activities.

The new faculty member will be expected to contribute to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching in the Mechanical & Industrial Engineering Department, and conduct nationally-recognized externally-funded scholarly work in an emerging area of industrial or systems engineering research that affords collaboration with other MSU researchers, such as: sustainability, cybersecurity, autonomous and connected vehicles, financial engineering, healthcare, or user-centered design/usability engineering or related field as appropriate. Other responsibilities include advising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, participation in accreditation activities and committee assignments, and service to the university, state, and profession.
