Assistant Professor of Practice, Computer Engineering (NTT)
Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: The School of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of the Pacific invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering for the 2023-2024 academic year (with potential for renewal).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidates must have an earned M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Applicants must have knowledge of computer systems and their applications.
- Preferred qualifications include specialization in an area of computer systems, such as computer architecture, storage, networking, digital design, or microcontrollers and embedded systems.
Preferred Qualifications: The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching at a predominantly undergraduate institution. Teaching responsibilities will include a variety of undergraduate courses offered by the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, as well as the opportunity to develop new graduate courses in the candidates area of expertise. Other duties include mentoring senior capstone research projects, participation in departmental and university governance, and ongoing professional development. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
Physical Requirements: Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using a computer keyboard and phone. Occasional standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
