Work description
- Survey and critical analysis of the state-of-the-art in hypervision, decision support systems, and AI agents applied to power grid operations (based on LF Energy's GridFM and OperatorFabric projects).
- Scenario modeling using real and synthetic data, including the integration of electric vehicles and photovoltaic production.
- Development of the hypervision cockpit for simultaneous monitoring of multiple grids.
- Implementation of the AI nnAssistant, including features such as state estimation, alarm prioritization, and issuing recommendations to the operator.
- Integration and testing in an experimental environment, with real data provided by grid operators and energy pilot communities, evaluating performance, usability, and the impact on operators' cognitive load.
Academic Qualifications
- Electrical and computer engineering; computer science; applied mathematics; related fields.
Minimum profile required
- Advanced knowledge of a programming language (e.g. Python, C++).
Preference factors
- Knowledge of electrical distribution networks.
- Knowledge of machine learning.
- Experience in software development and APIs.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Maintenance stipend: € 1040.98 or 1309.64, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.
INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders".
The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.
