Our Structural Engineering research laboratories are the largest and best-equipped in New Zealand. The College of Engineering has just completed a 3 year long, $163 million investment of its engineering specialist laboratory wings and main teaching spaces. Staff and students now have access to the best modern facilities and technologies for teaching, learning and research in the southern hemisphere.
About the PhD and Master Positions
The PhD and Master students will be working on research topics in the areas of seismic behaviors and design of structures, seismic assessment and strengthening of structures, structural health monitoring, fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composites and structures, high performance fiber reinforced cementitious composites and structural applications, 3D printing materials and structures, durability related to advanced materials and structures, and etc.
Candidates with experiences in the above mentioned research areas are strongly preferred. It is expected the candidates have a degree in Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering (construction materials, composite materials, and etc.) or other relevant disciplines.
