SUMMARY: Teach courses in Architectural Engineering as assigned by the Department Chair, usually 9 credit hours per semester.  Serve the department, college and the profession by undertaking committee work and leadership roles and by advising students.  Carry out scholarly work, including applied research.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Teaches and develops undergraduate and graduate courses in Architectural Engineering.
  • Develops and sustains strong externally-funded research programs.
  • Advise undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Directs student engineering projects.
  • Participates in professional and University service activities.
  • Keeps regular office hours to provide easy access to students.
  • Maintains current knowledge in fields of expertise.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) or equivalent; more than 10 years related experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals,

professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports,

business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and

respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
