The Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department in the College of Engineering at Lawrence Technological University (LTU) seeks applicants for a tenure track position in biomedical engineering. Applicants with an earned doctorate in biomedical engineering and/or a related engineering or science field, excellent oral and written communication skills, and commitment to undergraduate teaching and research encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with research interests complementary to current department research areas, such as biomedical data science, computational bioengineering. However, outstanding applicants with expertise in other biomedical engineering areas are also encouraged to apply.

The BME Department at LTU (https://www.ltu.edu/engineering/biomedical) offers BS and MS degrees in BME. Seven labs (Biofabrication, Bioinstrumentation, Biomaterials, Biomechanics, BioMEMS and Microfabrication, Cell Culture and Cell Biology, Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope) are dedicated for faculty and students to conduct course projects and interdisciplinary research.

LTU is a private university in Southeastern Michigan known for its excellence in undergraduate education and motto of “Theory and Practice”.  The College of Engineering is the oldest and largest college, enrolling approximately 1,100 undergraduate and 750 graduate students. The College includes five departments: biomedical, civil & architectural, electrical & computer, mechanical, industrial, & robotics, and technology. The University enjoys strong ties with many industries headquartered in the region and is expanding graduate, service, and applied research programs.
