Job Description

Lecturer, Civil, Environmental, and Ocean Engineering

 

The Department of Civil, Environmental, and Ocean Engineering (CEOE) at Stevens Institute of Technology seeks applicants for a 9-month lecturer position, starting in Spring 2023. This position is part of a major emphasis on urban infrastructure systems in CEOE at Stevens. The successful candidate is expected to teach a broad range of civil engineering courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the mechanics area, including geomechanics, advanced mechanics of materials, dynamics, soil mechanics, numerical modeling and simulation. We seek applicants who are passionate about teaching civil engineering courses to undergraduate and graduate students in an inclusive environment and have a demonstrated record of teaching excellence in these or similar topics. 

 

Required Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • A PhD degree in civil engineering or a related field
  • A record of pedagogical accomplishments and leadership in relation to graduate or undergraduate education
  • Experience in advising undergraduate and master’s level students
