Description of Duties: The Nanotechnology Center at UTRGV has an opening position for a postdoctoral research associate to contribute to ongoing efforts related to prescribing internal structure of nanofiber systems, nanofiber design and processing using mesoscale network materials, and general nanofiber related structure-property/structure-function relationships. The team is working towards developing the next generation of nanofiber systems. Specifically developing a suite of strategies to produce internally structured nanofibers. Examples include core-shell and concentric layered structures, particles distributed randomly or on a lattice, and co-continuous network phases. The team is actively promoting understanding of how nanofiber processing impacts the structure of mesoscale network materials and the impact on the mechanical, electrical, optical, and thermophysical properties of the developed fibers.
