Position Overview
Teach one or more undergraduate or graduate courses in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science.
Applications will be reviewed and placed in a pool for consideration for part-time (regular or temporary) teaching positions as they are needed.
Applications will be accepted throughout the year. Appointments are one semester, renewable, subject to review and funding. The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Any employment with the University of Kansas is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check.
Job Description
40% - Prepare and present lectures for one or more undergraduate or graduate courses in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science as described in the approved course syllabi.
40% - Hold office hours, design and supervise laboratories, projects and exams as appropriate to the course.
20% - Grade student laboratories, projects and exams and/or supervise graders and teaching assistants.
Required Qualifications
Lecturers for undergraduate classes requires an earned Master's or doctorate degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science or a closely related scientific discipline.
Lecturers for graduate classes requires a doctorate in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science or closely related scientific discipline ~ OR ~ an earned Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science or closely related scientific discipline and five years of related industrial experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Earned doctorate in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science or closely related scientific discipline.
