The Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatics Engineering (http://www.cege.fau.edu) at Florida Atlantic University welcomes applications for an Assistant Professor position in the general area of Transportation Engineering. The department is particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to one or more of the following areas: durability and resiliency of infrastructure under multiple natural hazards, design and maintenance of resilient infrastructure systems, transportation planning and operations, AI in Transportation, travel behavior and demand modeling, emerging technologies in transportation, and sustainable and resilient transportation. The Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatics Engineering (CEGE) hosts 3 ABET-accredited undergraduate programs, a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Transportation and Environmental Engineering with about 400 undergraduate and 100 graduate students. The faculty is highly interdisciplinary and conducts research primarily in the broad thematic areas of Urban Mobility, Infrastructure, and Sustainability/Resilience. The Department has three research centers: the Center for Infrastructure and Constructed Facilities (fau.edu/engineering/cege/research/cicf/), the Center for Water Resiliency and Risk Reduction (cwr3.fau.edu), and the Freight Mobility Research Institute (fmri.fau.edu).
