The Department of Computer Science within the College of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at Khalifa University covers a wide array of fields including information systems, computer and information security, software engineering, Internet of Things, embedded systems, computer vision, artificial intelligence, among others. The faculty members conduct cutting-edge research on a wide range of topics within these fields. The department provides Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, M.Sc. in Computer Science, and Ph.D. in ECE.
The department invites applications for two positions in the area of Artificial Intelligence at the rank of Assistant Professor. Research and teaching interests may include but are not limited to machine learning, reinforcement learning, multi-agent systems, natural language processing, and security and software engineering as it relates to Artificial Intelligence. Candidates with quantum computing background are also welcome to apply.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or related disciplines from an accredited institution is required, along with a minimum of two years of experience. Preference will be given to candidates with education from and/or previous service in distinguished institutions of higher education. The successful candidates will join a vibrant and forward-thinking department with a focus on cutting-edge research and excellence in education. We are seeking Assistant Professors specializing in Artificial Intelligence to contribute to our academic mission. The candidates are expected to engage in high-impact research, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor and advise students, fostering intellectual curiosity and research excellence and actively participate in the academic community.
Candidates should demonstrate expertise in fundamental Artificial Intelligence, have an established research reputation or outstanding research potential, strong publication record in top venues including leading Artificial Intelligence conferences and journals, the ability to attract external research funding, and a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The candidate’s CV should include the following information, among others: Field of Specialization, Citation Data from Scopus and Scholar with links, Academic Qualifications, Academic Honors and Awards, Membership of Professional Bodies; Summary of Courses Taught, Participation in Academic Accreditation if any; Students Supervised by Level, Complete List of Publications, Research Grants Obtained; Membership of Conference Committees, Membership of Journal Editorial Boards, and Service as Reviewer.
