Job Description

Plans and conducts assigned and/or original research projects autonomously while working collaboratively with faculty, staff, postdocs and students. Education: PhD in related technical, scientific or engineering discipline. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.

The postdoctoral researcher is expected to work on the following tasks:

Contribute to the evaluation and enhancement of Stevens Flood Advisory System (SFAS)
Contribute to the deployment of SFAS and its operation in the cloud and the HPC. This will involve, among others, working on weather and hydrodynamic models and their coupling.
Work on and contribute to other ongoing projects funded by NOAA and NASA in collaboration with iSMART team members and the broader Davidson Lab researchers.
Lead and help in the writing of research proposals.
Write and publish quality research papers.
The postdoctoral researcher is encouraged to work with graduate students and contribute to their mentorship.
