Founded in 1919, AUC moved to a new 270-acre state-of-the-art campus in New Cairo in 2008. The University also operates in its historic downtown facilities, offering cultural events, graduate classes, and continuing education. Student housing is available in New Cairo. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering invites applications for a four-year fixed-term faculty position in the areas of: embedded systems, cloud computing, networking, artificial intelligence and data management. Exceptional candidates are encouraged to apply at all ranks. The successful candidate is expected to teach and conduct research and play an active role in the department, the school, and the university service activities.
Candidates should hold a PhD or its equivalent in computing or a related domain. Successful candidates should have an ongoing program of research and publication and a strong leadership capability or potential and proven skills in high quality teaching. Mastery of the English language is required. North American academic and/or industrial experience and a Computer Engineering background are highly desirable. Renewal beyond the first year is contingent upon a successful review of teaching, scholarship and service.
