The Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering (CME) at the United States Military Academy (USMA), in West Point, New York is seeking qualified candidates for Instructor/Assistant/Associate Professor (full-time position) to teach undergraduate courses; advise undergraduate students; and provide service to the Civil Engineering Program at West Point to begin in June 2022.
The position will entail becoming part of the full-time faculty in the Civil Engineering Program and actively engaging in the West Point faculty domains of teaching, scholarship, cadet development, service, and faculty development. Candidates should demonstrate a background in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
As successful candidate will demonstrate: 1) academic accomplishment through advanced degrees (Ph.D. preferred) in Civil Engineering or closely related field, 2) ability to advise and manage complex engineering projects and research in their field of research, 3) ability to teach civil engineering courses at the undergraduate level and 4) abilities in research, scholarship and/or professional practice through publications or technical reports in field of expertise and 5) ability or demonstrated potential to mentor cadets (undergraduate students) and to communicate effectively. Consideration may be given to candidates who have experience in teach civil engineering.

Responsibilities
· You will be responsible for teaching undergraduate civil engineering and advising student design and research projects in the Academy's ABET-accredited civil engineering program.
· You will be responsible for teaching, course development, faculty development, cadet development, institutional service as well as research, advising cadet capstone design and independent research projects, and other duties as assigned
