Position Summary:
The Department of Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering and Technology (MMET) at Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech) seeks applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty, at the level of Assistant Professor located on the Klamath Falls campus. Applicants must have a commitment to high quality undergraduate and graduate engineering education and a strong desire to help grow and develop our ongoing educational programs.

Oregon Tech has multiple locations including a rural campus in Klamath Falls, an urban campus in Portland-Metro, and an online campus. Each campus offers a variety of undergraduate and Master’s degree programs. The starting salary for the positions will be competitive with our comparator institutions and includes an excellent benefits package with comprehensive healthcare; a generous retirement; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon University System schools.
The appointment will be at the Assistant Professor level. The department offers a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME, EAC-ABET accredited), a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET, ETAC-ABET accredited), a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology (BSMFG, ETAC-ABET accredited) and Master of Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MSMFG). The program has fully equipped engineering laboratories and is well known for providing a hands-on-applied engineering education.
This position has responsibilities for development and teaching in the area of Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, and Mechanical Engineering Technology with emphasis on, but not limited to, Mechanical Design and Design Analysis, CAD/CAM/CAE, and Mechanical System/Numerical Analysis, and may be required to advise Senior Projects and teach a broad of range of courses in MMET as needed. Additionally, candidates will be expected to pursue research opportunities (including undergraduate research) and apply for research grant. Required Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or closely related field.

- Demonstrated expertise in Mechanical Design and Design Analysis, CAD/CAM/CAE, and Mechanical System/Numerical Analysis
