Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Prescott, Department of Aeronautical Science, invites applications for one full-time tenure/non-tenure track position as Assistant or Associate Professor of Aeronautical Science in support of our B.S. Aeronautical Science Degree Program which includes two Specialties: Professional Pilot Fixed-Wing, and Professional Pilot Helicopter.

Teaching assignments may include, but not be limited to, Jet Transport Systems, Turbine Engine Operations, Electronic Flight Management Systems, Flight Technique Analysis, Airline Operations, Domestic & International Navigation and other advanced courses that support the College of Aviation.

Normal teaching load corresponds to four 3-credit hour courses per semester. This position will also include working with and advising students as they explore different options with internships, research, and coursework as well as career paths. Scholarly activities and service responsibilities are expected and will be assigned as needed.

This is a nine-month position, renewed annually, with the possibility of summer teaching for additional pay.

The Prescott campus is a small residential campus in the mountains of northern Arizona. Prescott is one of the highest-rated residential areas in the Southwest. It is located at over 5,000 feet elevation, has a mild climate, clean air, and is close to outdoor recreation, pristine wilderness areas and national forests.


The selected candidate must have at least Master’s Degree, preferably in an aviation-related field. A Ph.D./doctoral degree is highly desirable. The candidate must have experience in Part 121/135 Airline, or Corporate flight operations, or appropriate military experience, especially in advanced aircraft systems and flight operations. The candidate will also have demonstrated ability to teach, preferably in collegiate or Part 121/141 training programs, and have demonstrated potential for scholarly activity.
