Multiple PhD positions with fully financial support are available in 2021 Fall in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Utah. The admitted PhD students are expected to work with Dr. Jianli Chen in the smart building and infrastructure management domain, including but not limited to building energy and airflow modeling, smart building control with optimization, renewable energy integration, artificial intelligence, sensing, occupant modeling and comfort, and advanced infrastructure management. The research will be interdisciplinary by nature. Students with the background of Architectural Engineering and Building Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electric Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science are all welcome to apply.
