Our research group is dedicated to fundamentally understand heat and mass transport phenomena, especially micro-/nanoscale porous media, aiming at developing advanced thermal and water management systems, while using machine learning, X-ray image-based pore-scale modeling, computational fluids dynamics, molecular dynamics simulation, and/or additive manufacturing. Our research has been supported by National Science Foundation (NSF), The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Kansas Water Institute, and Sandia National Lab.
Preferred candidate qualifications include:
- B.S./M.S. degree in mechanical engineering, or related fields.
- Solid knowledge of heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
- Experience in Molecular Dynamics Simulation such as LAMMPS or relevant simulation software.
- Proficiency in computer programming languages such as Python, Matlab, C/C++, Fortran.
- Experience in High-Performance Computing (HPC) on CPU or GPU platforms.
- Experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) such as OpenFOAM, and/or lattice Boltzmann method (LBM).
Applicants must submit: 1) Cover Letter; 2) CV; 3) Transcripts of B.S. and/or M.S. degrees; and 4) Names and contact information of three references as a single pdf to gisuk.hwang@wichita.edu. Screening of the applications will start upon receipt and continue until the positions are filled.
