Work description

Within the scope of the CAGED project, it is planned to research and develop machine learning algorithms for the processing of gastric endoscopy images.

The work of the scholarship holder will take place at FCUP's facilities, with regular visits and meetings to the IPO facilities and are developed within the scope of this project, the following being the main associated tasks:

  1. Research and develop machine learning algorithms for the processing of gastric endoscopy images.
  2. Lead or support the writing of scientific publications associated with this work.

 

Academic Qualifications

BSc in the fields of Informatics Engineering.

 

Minimum profile required

  • BSc in Informatics Engineering with at least 15 final average grade (out of 20 points);
  • Frequency of a MSc program in the scientific area of Data Science

 

Maintenance stipend: € 990,98, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.

INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders".

 

The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.

 

Preference factors

  • Previous experience in data science.
  • Ability to clearly propose research ideas.
