The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of South Alabama invites applications for a non-tenure track, one-year-only, position of Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering beginning August 15, 2024. The department is looking for candidates who can strengthen the core competencies and have expertise in areas including, but not limited to controls, computer engineering, or other related research/teaching areas.  Outstanding candidates in all areas of electrical and computer engineering are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or a closely related discipline by the time of hire and are expected to have a track record and ability to teach electrical and computer engineering core courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, and communicate effectively.  The successful candidate is expected to have the ability to contribute to the college's continuing commitment to strong undergraduate and graduate teaching. 

The Electrical & Computer Engineering Department is housed in a 155,000 s.f. state-of-the-art building.  The department offers ABET-accredited BSEE and BSCpE degrees and an MSEE degree with computer engineering and system engineering tracks. Also, the faculty members in the department advise and supervise students pursuing a Doctoral degree (PhD) in Systems Engineering following the ECE Track, or in Biomedical Engineering (a track of the Basic Medical Sciences PhD offered in conjunction with the USA College of Medicine). The College of Engineering has four departments: Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Civil, Coastal and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical, Aerospace, and Biomedical Engineering, as well as an MS and PhD in Systems Engineering.  The College also houses interdisciplinary analytical chemistry and electron microscopy laboratories.  Please see our website for more information:  https://www.southalabama.edu/colleges/engineering/ece/
