    The Resilient Interdependent Systems Engineering lab (RISE) at University of Connecticut Civil and Environmental Engineering Department has 1-2 open PhD research assistant positions for students to work with Dr. Jin Zhu starting from Spring 2021 or Fall 2021. The RISE lab focuses on using simulation, data analytics, and network modelling tools to investigate resilience of complex systems. The research areas include complex construction projects, interdependent infrastructure networks, and smart and connected communities.

    Students with the following backgrounds or experiences are encouraged to apply:
    1. A bachelor or master (preferred) degree in civil engineering, construction management, industrial engineering, systems engineering or a related field
    2. Solid mathematical background. Programming skills preferred.
    3. Excellent oral and writing skills.
    4. Self-motivated, responsible, and hardworking
