    FACULTY POSITION SCHOOL OF MATERIALS ENGINEERING

    The School of Materials Engineering at Purdue University invites applications for a non-tenure track Faculty of Engineering Practice position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. Purdue University seeks to attract exceptional candidates with interests and expertise in manufacturing/materials processing. Successful candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in Materials Engineering or a related discipline and demonstrate potential to integrate their professional practice with the School’s research, education, and/or engagement/outreach programs. The successful candidate will be expected to engage with industry via industrial consortia and grow external partnerships supporting applied research. Responsibilities will include teaching in the School’s industry-sponsored senior design program and in support of growing online graduate programs in commercial practice of materials engineering.

    The School of Materials Engineering at Purdue University is known for its collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, with strengths across the broad spectrum of materials and facilities for their study by experimental and computational methods. One of the fastest growing Materials programs in the country, the School now has over 30 faculty, 200 undergraduates and 170 graduate students.

    The School is an integral part of Purdue’s College of Engineering.
