  • Assistant Professor of Ocean Engineering - (Naval Architecture and/or Naval Engineering)

    The Department of Ocean Engineering invites applications at the Assistant Professor level from outstanding individuals with demonstrated expertise or research potential in the broad area of Naval Architecture and/or Naval Engineering. Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to, marine hydrodynamics, fluid/wave-structure interactions, marine structures, floating offshore structures, ocean systems and control, and computational/experimental investigations related to these topics.


    We expect to fill this tenure-track, academic-year, position, in the Fall of 2022 with an expected start date in January or September 2023. Interested applicants can learn more about the department by visiting its web site (https://web.uri.edu/engineering/about/ocean-engineering/).


    Duties and Responsibilities:


    The successful candidate will be expected to establish a nationally and internationally recognized research program and become an international leader in this field. She/He will have earned a doctorate in Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related Naval Engineering fields.


    The search will remain open until the position has been filled. First consideration will be given to applications received by August 31. 2022.
