Professor of the Practice

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (engineering.tufts.edu/ece) at Tufts University (www.tufts.edu/) seeks candidates for a Full-time Professor of the Practice position in the area of Electrical Engineering. Candidates must possess a doctorate degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field and have a minimum of 10 years of experience.
We seek applicants with expertise in electrical engineering. Principal responsibilities will include graduate and undergraduate instruction and mentorship, and University and professional service. The successful candidate will join our Electrical Engineering program with strengths in electronic materials, photonics, sensors, biomedical devices, machine learning, and power systems. Preference will be given to candidates with a proven record of teaching.

A good Professor of the Practice candidate will additionally possess a wealth of industry experience to share with our students. The Professor of the Practice rank is awarded when a candidate has demonstrated outstanding professional accomplishments and achieved senior stature in his/her field, demonstrated by a career path of increasing responsibility and scope. In the case of this position, we would consider a part-time hire if the finalist wished to maintain part-time employment in industry.
