  • Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Full Professor in Astrodynamics and Space Missions

    The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a full-time faculty position. Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments. We are seeking a candidate to build a reputable independent research program in Astrodynamics and Space Missions. In this general area, we are particularly interested in Autonomous Space Navigation, Guidance and Control, Precision Landing and Rendezvous, Small Satellite Missions, Interplanetary Trajectory Optimization, and Space Traffic Management. Other sub-areas of expertise within the general area will also be considered. The successful candidate will develop and lead a sustainable, innovative, independent research program, will publish impactful research in top-ranked, field-related refereed journals, and will build reputation nationally and internationally to elevate UAEU’s international reputation. The successful candidate will have strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching and education, including but are not limited to, developing courses enhance our undergraduate and graduate programs, mentoring students. Successful candidates will have access to advanced laboratory facilities, opportunities for internal research funding, and collaboration with Centers of Excellence. UAEU is renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and research innovation.     Minimum Qualification


    Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field from an internationally recognized university at the time of appointment or shortly thereafter. Research track-record commensurate with the rank applied for. The ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses is a must.


    Preferred Qualification


    B.Sc./B.Eng. degree in Aerospace Engineering preferred. Industrial and professional experience is a plus. Expertise in Astrodynamics and Space Missions. In this general area, we are particularly interested in Autonomous Spacecraft Navigation, Guidance and Control, Precision Landing and Rendezvous, Small Satellite Missions, Interplanetary Trajectory Optimization, and Space Traffic Management.

    Develop and lead a sustainable, innovative, independent research program, publish impactful research in top-ranked, field-related refereed journals, build reputation nationally and internationally to elevate UAEU’s international reputation. Dedication to teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups. Experience in/strong commitment to engineering education including but are not limited to, curriculum, and pedagogical approaches development.
