Join Professor Jinkyu Yang's Research Group at Seoul National University

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow in the field of aerospace, electrical, and mechanical engineering to join Professor Jinkyu Yang's research group at Seoul National University. Specifically, we are looking for a postdoctoral fellow candidate, who has research background in the subjects including – but not being limited to - vibration controls, robotics, origami mechanics, and deployable structures.

Our group is focused on developing novel intelligent, lightweight, and deployable structures for aerospace, mechanical, and biomedical applications, utilizing both experimental and numerical approaches. Our research includes the development of origami-based structures, vibration and impact mitigating systems, and acoustic/mechanical metamaterials. Our projects have been funded by Korean governments, automotive industry (Hyundai and Toyota), and aerospace and defense agencies (U.S. Air Force and aerospace-related Korean agencies).

The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering, applied physics/mathematics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Candidates with strong background in mechanics, controls and/or robotics discipline will be welcomed. We offer a competitive salary level with social benefits (including health and employment insurances), and after the completion of the first year contract, long-term funding over two to three years is also possible. Excellent research environments will be provided, and campus housing will be available for both individuals and families. Position is available now, and the starting date can be adjusted.
