  • Postdoctoral Fellow – Soil Nutrient Cycling and Greenhouse Emissions

    The department of Biosystems Engineering at Auburn University is seeking candidates for a Post- Doctoral Fellow to work both independently and as part of a team to investigate soil nutrient cycling and greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural systems. The successful candidate is expected to be highly organized, personable, enthusiastic, and able to conduct field sampling and laboratory analysis. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

     

    Responsibilities include the following:
    • Design and execute greenhouse gas collection plans from laboratory and field conditions.
    • Field measurement of GHG emissions from manure-impacted soils.
    • Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as GC and ICP-OES.
    • Produce reports and peer-reviewed articles based on the research findings.
    • Disseminate research findings through presentations at national and domestic conferences.
    • Supervise graduate students and undergraduate student workers.
    This is a benefit eligible, non-tenure track position. The appointment is for an initial period of one year with a possibility of continuance up to a maximum of four years depending on performance and funding availability.
