The School of Engineering & Applied Science (SEAS) at the University of Virginia (UVa) seeks well-qualified applicants for an Open Rank (Assistant, Associate, or Professor) Tenured/Tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) or Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). We seek excellent candidates who can complement and expand on UVA Engineering’s existing strengths and collaboratively work with in current focus areas such as smart health, cyber physical systems, and flexible electronics. Successful candidates will be expected to develop internationally recognized sustainable research programs and to make significant contributions to the department's teaching and service responsibilities. Example research areas of interest for applicants include but are not limited to cyber-physical systems (CPS), flexible electronics, smart textiles, digital health, biomechanics, precision medicine.
The primary responsibilities for these positions include research, teaching, and service to the department and the community at large. The appointment rank will be commensurate with experience. A doctoral degree in a relevant field is required. The University of Virginia's 2030 plan recognizes Precision Medicine/Precision Health as a major societal challenge and an opportunity for multidisciplinary work that draws on our existing strengths.
