Visiting Professor of Mechanical Engineering

Job Summary
We are seeking a talented individual who is passionate about teaching and is invested in the success of our students. If you would like to be a part of a professional, collaborative team devoted to making a significant and lasting impact on the lives of young engineers, the Dr. Carl D. and H. Jane Clay Department of Mechanical Engineering at Ohio Northern University invites you to apply for a three-year visiting faculty position to begin August 19, 2025. Contingent on sustained enrollment in the program, extension of this visiting position will be considered at the conclusion of the contract period. Appointment will be made at a rank commensurate with the experience of the candidate.

Principle Responsibilities:
Teaching of introductory, college-wide courses as well as upper-level mechanical engineering courses is expected.

Required Skills:
The applicant must be committed to teaching excellence in undergraduate education and to cultivating a sense of community and belonging for students, faculty, and staff of all backgrounds. Applicants must also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Minimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, adjacent fields such as Materials, Aerospace, Biomedical, Robotics, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field such as Engineering Education (with a prior degree in mechanical engineering) or a MS degree and significant, relevant industry experience is required.
