    The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) is a leading school for Sustainable Built Environment. The key objective is to support efforts to excellence in providing advanced education, spearheading groundbreaking research, and delivering unparalleled professional services.st


    We are looking for a Project Officer to advance sustainable building materials and develop innovative fire-resistant coatings for structural applications. The role will focus on enhancing the durability, environmental sustainability, and fire performance of construction materials, addressing key challenges in the built environment. The research contributes to improving material safety, reducing carbon footprints, and fostering innovation aligned with the university's mission to support resilient and sustainable infrastructure development.


     


    Key Responsibilities:




    • Conduct research and in-depth analyses to develop sustainable building materials and innovative fire-resistant coatings for structural applications.




    • Design, test, and optimise eco-friendly materials to enhance durability, fire safety, and environmental performance.




    • Develop and implement cutting-edge methods to improve fire resistance and material longevity in construction projects.




    • Ensure project compliance with sustainability frameworks and safety regulations to support the development of resilient infrastructure.




    • Provide professional guidance on sustainable building materials in project planning.




     


    Job Requirements:




    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field




    • Knowledge of material durability analysis and fire-resistance testing and modelling.




    • Familiarity with material standards fire safety standards




    • Good written and oral communication skills




    • Experience with precast concrete structure design and analysis




    • Proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD.




    • Competent in analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
