  • Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position in Cybersecurity (EECS)
    Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
    Florida Institute of Technology

    Florida Tech's Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position beginning August 2025. Preference is for the Assistant Professor level, but other levels will be considered. Required qualifications for the position include an earned Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or closely related field, evidence of the ability to develop and sustain applied academic courses and programs in the field of cyber security. A sincere interest in quality teaching, both at the graduate and undergraduate levels is essential.


     


    Applicants from all areas of cybersecurity and related fields are encouraged to apply. However, preference will be given to applicants who have a background in applied cybersecurity, emphasizing topics in reverse engineering, vulnerability research, web security, assembly programming, and mobile/wireless security.


     


    The department has ABET-accredited programs in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Software Engineering and receives significant active research funding from several government agencies and industry partners. Florida Tech is an NSA/DHS designated Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Research, and new faculty will also have opportunities to work with the L3Harris Institute for Assured Information on related activities for academic education, training, and workforce development.


     


    Florida Tech is located in Melbourne on Florida's Space Coast, one of the nation's fastest-growing high-tech areas. Several major corporations have a local presence, including General Electric, L3Harris, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon. The campus is 5 minutes from the Indian River estuary, only 10 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean, and 50 minutes from the Kennedy Space Center and Orlando.
