    We are seeking one postdoctoral researcher at Arizona State University (ASU) in Tempe, AZ. This position focuses on the interplay between plasma and materials under extreme conditions for semiconductor applications. We highly encourage candidates with a strong research background in plasma physics, instrumentation, processes, or related fields to apply. The position is set to begin in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026.


    This project is supported by a leading semiconductor company, Applied Materials. The successful candidate will have unique research opportunities to collaborate with experts from universities and national laboratories, as well as from Applied Materials. The selected candidate will be co-advised by Professors Eric Nian and Wonmo Kang.

    *Eligibility Criteria*



    1. Self-motivated individuals with a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Physics, or other relevant disciplines.

    2. A research background in plasma physics, instrumentation, processes, or related fields.

    3. The ability to work in the US.

    4. Hands-on experience in designing and setting up plasma systems or vacuum chambers for material processing (e.g., deposition or etching) is a significant plus.


     


    *Support Offered*



    1. Salary will be negotiable based on the candidate's research experience.

    2. Funding for conference travel will be provided.

    3. Funding is available for up to three years.
