  • PhD Research Assistant
    Civil & Environmental Engineering
    Villanova University

    We are seeking a highly motivated and interdisciplinary Doctoral Research Assistant to join a collaborative project aimed at deepening understanding of urban rivers. This project leverages hydraulic modeling integrated with cutting-edge AI technology and field monitoring.


    Key Responsibilities:



    • Conduct field research on an urban river.

    • Test field samples in a laboratory.

    • Develop physics-guided machine learning models calibrated with real-time monitoring data.

    • Contribute to the dissemination of research findings through academic publications, presentations, and community outreach.


    Qualifications:



    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field.

    • Experience or interest in AI applications, data science, and real-time monitoring systems.

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.


    Preferred Qualifications:



    • Familiarity with hydraulic modeling and field monitoring.

    • Experience with machine learning applications in environmental systems.
