Key Performance Areas

Deliver effective and high quality teaching, learning experiences, and assessments; supervise research projects at undergraduate levels; lead and participate in scholarly research, securing funding and publishing in reputable journals; contribute to the development and continual review of curriculum and academic programmes; establish partnerships with industry stakeholders and professional bodies to enhance academic relevance; mentor junior staff and contribute to capacity building initiatives within the Department; participate actively in administrative duties and faculty service; engage in meaningful community outreach in alignment with the University’s mandate and perform any other reasonable duties as may be assigned.

Job Description

A Master’s degree (NQA Level 9) in Transport Management; Maritime Management, Transport & Logistics Management,Transport Engineering, with at least Four (4) years of lecturing and or Industrial experience and or equivalent combination of  relevant professional experience. Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written. Competency to teach at least three (3) of the following courses:  Oil and Gas Transportation, Land Transport Safety and  Infrastructure, Intelligent Transport Systems,  Strategic Fleet management, Transport Funding and Investment, Maritime and Air Transport Safety and Infrastructure, GIS for Transport, CAD for Transport. Competence to establish professional networks and to maintain links with the industry, as well as experience in developing undergraduate programmes.  A credible record of lecturing, peer reviewed publications, community engagement, supervision of students (research) undergraduate level, as well as a relevant Doctorate will be an advantage.
