Open-Rank Career-Track Teaching FacultyThe School of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at Oklahoma State University invites applications from highly motivated and qualified individuals for an open-rank, career-track teaching faculty (CTF) position in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), starting from spring/fall 2026. This renewable, non-tenure track appointment is available at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Practice level, with rank determined by the candidate’s teaching experience and technical expertise. As part of OSU’s General Faculty, the successful candidate will contribute to the university’s teaching mission and strategic initiatives. Primary responsibilities include: (1) Teaching lab-intensive undergraduate and/or graduate courses in ECE, spanning both foundational subjects (e.g., electric circuits, control) and advanced topics in machine learning and artificial intelligence; (2) Advising ECE students on academic matters; (3) Engaging in student-focused educational activities and outreach programs.
About the School:
The ECE department currently includes 20 full-time faculty members (including two CTF faculty members), 480 undergraduate students, and more than 70 graduate students. The School of ECE offers BS, MS, MEng, and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering (EE) and a BS degree in Computer Engineering (CpE) with an option in Software Engineering. The School’s undergraduate programs are ABET-accredited. In addition, a new joint MS in AI program has recently been established and is now open for student applications. This interdisciplinary program is co-led by the School of ECE and the Department of Computer Science (CS) and features three tracks: CpE, CS, and Healthcare Administration (HCA).
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a closely related engineering discipline. The appointed candidates will be responsible for teaching courses in electrical and computer engineering and are expected to perform excellently at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Required qualifications include strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Practical engineering design experience in the industry or prior teaching experience in higher education is highly valued.
