    FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT


    Position Details


    The Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Grove School of Engineering at the City College of New York (CCNY) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a vibrant externally funded research program and demonstrate excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.


    The Department offers an outstanding research environment with strengths in biomaterials/nanotechnology, cardiovascular engineering, musculoskeletal engineering, and neural engineering. We encourage applications from applicants whose expertise aligns with and strengthens these areas, with particular interest in biomaterials/nanotechnology/regenerative medicine and cardiovascular engineering.


    CCNY also anchors the New York Center for Biomedical Engineering, a unique and long-standing consortium of the Grove School of Engineering and major health care institutions and research medical centers in New York City. This partnership provides extensive collaborative research and training opportunities. As the founding and flagship college of the City University of New York (CUNY), CCNY is deeply committed to excellence and access in public higher education.


    QUALIFICATIONS


    Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field (or equivalent).


    Preferred Qualifications


    Also required are demonstrated achievements in the targeted research areas and the ability to teach effectively.


    COMPENSATION


    Salary Range: $90,838 - $109,025


    Salaries above the contractual base indicated above are available commensurate with experience per the PSC-CUNY contract.


    CUNY offers faculty a competitive compensation and benefits package covering health insurance, pension and retirement benefits, paid parental leave, and savings programs. We also provide mentoring and support for research, scholarship, and publication as part of our commitment to ongoing faculty professional development.


    CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will increase by approximately 9.54% with an additional increase of 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
