  • Faculty Position in Electronics
    The Institute of Electrical and Micro Engineering
    Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne

    The Institute of Electrical and Micro Engineering at EPFL invites applications for a faculty position in Electronics, at the level of Tenure Track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor.

    We are seeking exceptional candidates with a strong record of innovation in the design, implementation, and experimental realization of electronic circuits. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

    • Analog and mixed-signal circuit design, including radio-frequency (RF) and millimeter-wave circuits, for communication, sensing, imaging, and signal processing;

    • Low-power and high-performance circuits for emerging applications in edge AI, quantum technologies, biomedical systems, and 6G communications;

    • Digital and VLSI circuit design in both mature and emerging device technologies, including 3D integration, neuromorphic, and energy-efficient architectures;

    • Electronic design automation (EDA) for analog, RF, and mixed-signal circuits, as well as co-design methodologies bridging circuits, systems, and devices.

    Candidates must demonstrate evidence of having designed and realized cutting-edge integrated circuits and a strong experimental or prototyping component in their research. A proven ability to bridge theory, design, and hardware validation will be considered a major asset.

    We seek candidates with an outstanding research record, a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and who will be proactive members of the Electrical and Micro Engineering communities. Candidates with strong academic background, but with few years of experience in industry are also welcome.

    This new position is aimed at reinforcing the collaboration between academia and the Swiss and European industry in the field of electronics. Applicants should demonstrate a potential for direct interactions with industrial partners to pursue specific technological advances.

    As a faculty member of the School of Engineering, the successful candidate will be expected to initiate and develop an independent and creative research program, as well as to participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Internationally competitive salaries, start-up resources, and benefits are offered.

    Applications should include a cover letter with a statement of motivation, curriculum vitae, list of publications and patents, concise statements of research and teaching interests. Applicants should also provide the names and contact of three to five (for the rank of Tenure Track Assistant Professor) or five to seven (for the rank of Associate or Full Professor) references who are ready to supply a letter upon request.

    Application deadline: January 15th, 2026

    Applications should be uploaded to the EPFL recruitment page:
