    Stevens Institute of Technology

    The Department of Civil, Environmental, and Ocean Engineering (CEOE) at Stevens Institute of Technology seeks applicants for a 9-month lecturer position, starting in Spring 2026. The successful candidate is expected to teach a broad range of civil engineering and/or environment courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Example courses include geotechnical engineering, groundwater engineering, transportation engineering, fate and transport of environmental contaminants, structural steel design, environmental chemistry of soils, reinforced concrete design, introduction to geosciences, advanced mechanics of materials, statics, and geographic information systems. We seek applicants who are passionate about teaching civil or environmental engineering courses to undergraduate and graduate students in an inclusive environment.


    Required Qualifications




    • A master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field




    Preferred Qualifications




    • A PhD degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering or a related field




    • A record of pedagogical accomplishments and leadership in relation to graduate or undergraduate education




    • Experience in advising undergraduate and master’s level students

    Compensation Range


    In compliance with the New Jersey Wage Transparency Act, the semi-monthly base range for this position is $70,000 - $75,000. This range represents the University’s good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Stevens Institute of Technology determines compensation based on factors including the position’s scope and responsibilities, the candidate’s experience, education, skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational considerations. The final salary will be set considering departmental budget, qualifications, and relevant credentials. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes additional forms of compensation, such as incentives, stipends, or other applicable pay components.
