    Assistant/Associate Professor Position(s), Biomedical Engineering - Tenure Track

    The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Rowan University invites applicants for tenure-track position(s) at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We seek outstanding candidates who have a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, or a closely related discipline. Successful candidates are expected to develop and maintain an active, highly visible, externally-funded research program with outstanding scholarship and to demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentoring both undergraduate and doctoral graduate students. The areas of expertise are open encompassing all research areas of the biomedical engineering field.

    We seek individuals who value collaborative and interdisciplinary work as significant opportunities and partnerships exist within the College of Engineering and throughout the University.

    Rowan University is a Carnegie-classified research institution with approximately 17,300 students. Its main campus is located in Glassboro, N.J., 20-miles southeast of Philadelphia, and it has a branch campus and medical school in Camden and a second medical school in nearby Stratford. Rowan is the second university in the country to offer M.D. and D.O. medical-degree granting programs. The School of Osteopathic Medicine has a faculty practice plan that serves approximately 200,000 patients in Southern New Jersey. Rowan is also home to the South Jersey Technology Park and a business incubator, which fosters the translation of applied research into commercial products and processes. The University comprises seven colleges- the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering, the William G. Rohrer College of Business, and Colleges of Communication and Creative Arts, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, Performing Arts, and Science and Mathematics. Rowan has been recognized as one of the top 100 public universities in the nation and is ranked third among public institutions in the North by U.S. News & World Report. The Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering was ranked 19 in the nation among the best undergraduate engineering schools.

    The College of Engineering has undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Computer, and Mechanical Engineering. Biomedical Engineering is our newest department and is in a period of substantial growth.

    Major metropolitan areas within the Northeast Corridor are within easy reach of Glassboro. Philadelphia is a thirty minute drive, New York City and Washington, D.C. are less than three hours away, and Jersey beaches are only an hour drive.

    Anticipated Start Date: September 1, 2018
