    Job Description


    The Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. School of Engineering and Science at Stevens Institute of Technology (Stevens) invites applications for faculty positions at the rank of assistant/associate/full professor. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering or a related discipline. Applicants should have a record of funded scholarship and teaching success. Successful candidates will be expected to maintain sustained externally-funded research programs, contribute to the Stevens teaching mission, and engage in the Stevens intellectual community.


    Outstanding applicants with research and teaching interests complementary to the department's existing research areas are welcome to apply. Our departmental research areas of strength include biomaterials, biomechanics, tissue engineering, biomedical imaging, neuro-engineering, and engineering physiology.     The Schaefer School of Engineering and Science is Stevens's largest of four schools. It has support facilities that include electron, confocal, and atomic force microscopy, mass spectrometry, NMR, other analytical instrumentation, a high-performance computing cluster, and an animal vivarium. The Department of Biomedical Engineering has an ABET-accredited undergraduate program and master's and doctoral-level graduate programs, with over 300 students in total.
