    Tenure-track Faculty Position in Communications and Networks


     


    Applications are invited for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, with a focus on communications and networks. The position will commence on June 1, 2024 or earliest thereafter. Demonstrated expertise in communications, networks and/or communication signal processing, with a focus on emerging technologies is required. Relevant industrial experience would be considered an asset. This position is subject to budgetary approval.


     


    The successful candidate will participate in the academic programs of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, including teaching undergraduate courses, developing undergraduate laboratories, supervising graduate students and graduate projects, teaching courses in graduate programs and engaging in other educational, scholarly and professional activities. The successful candidate will be expected to seek out research funding, build an active research program and team, and, as appropriate, collaborate with partners in industry, government and academia. An ability to teach a broad range of electrical and computer engineering courses would be an asset. The successful candidate is expected to register as a professional engineer in Newfoundland and Labrador.

    The successful candidate should ideally have a bachelor’s degree and an earned doctorate in electrical engineering, computer engineering, communications engineering or a related discipline by the start date of the appointment.
