  • Contract Faculty Position in Biotechnology in the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering

    The Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for a full-time, non-tenured, renewable faculty position in Biotechnology or Biomolecular Science at the level of Industry Assistant/Associate Professor, with a start date of September 1, 2024


     Job description


    An Industry Professor’s primary roles are teaching, mentoring, and educational innovation, and the position may also entail some administrative work, advising, and outreach. We invite applicants for an Industry Professor position whose main duties include teaching lecture courses in the areas of Biomaterials, Protein Engineering and Biocatalysis. The typical teaching load for Industry Professors is two to three lecture courses per semester adjusted for project supervision and/or advising.


    Qualifications


    We invite applicants who are interested and qualified to teach graduate classes in at least two of the following areas: Biomaterials, Protein Engineering, and Biocatalysis. You should be an excellent teacher. You should have a Ph.D. related to one of these disciplines. Previous teaching experience at the graduate level is strongly preferred, but not essential. Candidates with industry experience are encouraged to apply.

    Additional Information


    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary (for 9-month) range for this position is $85,000-$135,000.  New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
