  • Postdoctoral Researcher in Quantum Scientific Computing
    Mechanical Engineering

    We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic researcher to fill a Postdoctoral Researcher position in Quantum Scientific Computing at the Florida A&M University-Florida State University College of Engineering (FAMU-FSU COE) in Tallahassee, Florida. This exciting opportunity is directed towards highly motivated and enthusiastic researchers who are eager to contribute to cutting-edge projects in the realm of quantum computing and its applications in scientific problems. Specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing numerical algorithms to solve partial differential equations on gate-based quantum computers.


    Responsibilities:



    • Develop innovative computational techniques leveraging emerging quantum computing paradigms.

    • Work on interdisciplinary projects focusing on the application of quantum computing in scientific computing domains.

    • Engage in the development and implementation of algorithms and models for quantum computing platforms.

    • Analyze, interpret, and present research findings through high-impact publications and conferences.

    • Collaborate with a diverse team of researchers and guide graduate and undergraduate students.


    Requirements:



    • PhD in Applied Mathematics, Computational Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.

    • Demonstrated expertise in computational linear algebra, scientific computing, and computational methods.

    • Deep knowledge of iterative solvers, and experience with Krylov subspace techniques.

    • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python.

    • Understanding of quantum mechanics, and familiarity with the current quantum computing platforms is a plus.

    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

    • Commitment to collaborative research and independent problem-solving.
